Frozen Cheese Bread - Pão De Queijo

A Brazilian snack made with cassava and cheese, also known as a baked cheese roll or cheese bun, is a trendy snack and breakfast food that goes well with a cup of coffee or tea. It is a traditional Brazilian recipe originating in the state of Minas Gerais.

Pão de queijo originated in Brazil. Enslaved people would soak and peel the cassava root and make bread rolls from it. At this time, there was no cheese in the rolls. At the end of the 19th century, more ingredients became available to the colonial community, such as milk and cheese. They added milk and cheese to the tapioca roll, making what we now know as pão de queijo.

Despite being referred to as "bread", cheese bread is a starch tart cookie or sweet plus eggs, salt, vegetable oil, and cheese, with soft and elastic consistency and a few variations.

Method of preparation:

1. Preheat the oven for 5 minutes

1. (Fan assisted 160, Gas mark 4 or Electric 180.); 
2. Place the frozen cheese balls 2cm apart on a baking tray;
3. Bake the cheese balls for approximately; 20-30 minutes until golden brown;
4. Once baked, wait for 5 minutes to cool down.

STORAGE CONDITION

The Pão De Queijo need to be kept frozen, and once it is defrosted, they need to be baked and consumed immediately and not refrozen.
