Coxinha is a popular street food snack in Brazil and is fun and economical to make. Think of it as savoury dough shaped into a drumstick with a creamy chicken salad filling. It's then battered and fried to golden, crispy perfection.

What Does the Word "Coxinha" Mean"

The Portuguese word "coxinha" literally means chicken's "little thigh." This delicious snack is moulded to resemble a drumstick.

What Can You Do With Leftover Coxinha Filling?

 If you have a bit of filling left over, use it to make sandwiches or spread it on celery sticks for a quick snack. It makes a tasty spread for sturdy crackers or toasted baguette slices.

Ingredients: Mashed Potato, Garlic, Rapeseed Oil, Chicken Stock (WHEAT, SOYA), Salt, Flour (WHEAT), Chicken, Dried Onions, Chicken Powder (MILK, E621, E631, E627, E150C), Chives, Black Pepper, Cayenne Pepper, Turmeric, Powdered MILK, Annatto, Tomato Powder, Oregano, Breadcrumbs (WHEAT).

Method of preparation:

  1. Heat The Oil To 180°C On A Deep Fryer;
  2. Place The Frozen Coxinhas In The Basket, No More Than 6 At A Time;
  3. Fry For 2-3 Minutes;
  4. Leave To Stand 5 Minutes Before Serving.

    STORAGE CONDITION
